We will begin with gentle movements to awaken the spine, followed by a progressive sequence of backbends, from milder heart openers to deeper extensions. Through mindful breathing and alignment, we will explore how to support the spine safely while expanding our range of motion. Towards the end of the session, we will work on the wheel pose (Urdhva Dhanurasana), refining stability, strength, and balance. Whether you are new to the wheel pose or deepening your practice, there will be guidance and variations for all levels.

Yoga class Tuesday Feb 10th, 19:00-20:00 @buurtcentrum de Wende

Dear all,

I kindly invite you to join us for a flow style Hatha yoga class this coming Tuesday.

Starting relaxed on our backs we will stretch the backs of our legs and warm up the core. I want to pay some special attention to chaturanga before we will start with our flow, which we will repeat a few of times, starting slow holding poses for a few breaths but by the end moving faster through it.
The flow will focus on some side stretches and side plank variations, again starting easy but building to something stronger for those who are up for it.

For this coming Tuesday I’m excited to teach a class at Grassroots Yoga for the first time! This will be at Buurtcentrum De Wende (Goudlaan 555, 9743CP) on Tuesday 27 January, 19:00-20:00

I hope by then the roads will be free of ice but please be careful and stay safe if they aren’t!

In these cold winter days we will be building a bit of heat during class, and as someone suggested last week I took some inspiration from the ashtanga primary series. This means; get ready for some vinyasa’s!πŸ˜‰

If you don’t know what that is or if it sounds challenging to you no need to worry I will explain during class and we will do this in a way that is accessible even if you have little to no yoga experience.
We will also start with a short meditation and gentle warm up where we will go through some basics about hand placement in the mat and tilting the pelvis.

You can expect an approachable little taste of what an ashtanga class is like!
