I am excited to invite you to a Hatha Yoga class on Tuesday, 23 June, 19:00-20:15 in Stadspark (see location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/H6AMBUbnx7CZnrs26?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy). This outdoor class will be a chance to move, breathe, and connect with nature. We will begin with gentle movements to awaken the spine, followed by a progressive sequence of backbends, from milder heart openers to deeper extensions. Through mindful breathing and alignment, we will explore how to support the spine safely while expanding our range of motion. Towards the end of the session, we will work on the wheel pose (Urdhva Dhanurasana), refining stability, strength, and balance. Whether you are new to the wheel pose or deepening your practice, there will be guidance and variations for all levels.

Whether you are new to yoga or a dedicated practitioner, this class is for you. Please bring a yoga mat (or something to sit on if you prefer), comfortable clothing, and an open heart.

The class is donation-based, and your donation is what allows Grassroots to keep going ❤️ every little helps! However, we encourage your participation even if donation is not possible for you right now.

Join us for a Hatha-Iyengar inspired yoga class on Tuesday, 16 June, 19:00-20:00. In this session, we will use the chair as support to refine our posture in standing poses. Working with the chair allows us to develop greater stability, clarity in alignment, and deeper awareness of how the body organizes itself in space.

This yoga class welcomes participants of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Whether you are just starting your yoga journey or have a seasoned practice, you will find the class inclusive and suitable for your experience level. To join the class, make sure to bring a yoga mat and wear clothing that allows free movement.

Please come 5 minutes early so you can set your mat and settle in before we begin.

Celebrate the International Day of Yoga – 21 Jun

After the incredible success and heartfelt community support of last year, HolisticYogaNL, in collaboration with the Groningen Indian Students Association (GISA) and with the support of the Municipality of Groningen, is delighted to welcome you once again to this special celebration.

Join us as we come together to honor the International Day of Yoga, a unique festival of health that brings people closer through movement, breath, and mindfulness.

Whether you are a seasoned yogi or stepping onto the mat for the very first time, you are warmly invited. Together, we will cultivate inner peace, improve flexibility, and deepen the connection between body and mind.

Dear all 🌞

I am excited to invite you to a Hatha Yoga class on Tuesday, 26 May, 19:00-20:00 in the Martinikerkhof (https://maps.app.goo.gl/bZFbEz8HftNrV4t28). We will focus on asanas and exercises that stretch the hamstrings and glutes. We will also practice balancing poses, supporting each other, and perhaps experiment with chanting ‘Om’ while balancing, creating a serene ‘forest of trees’ effect. Towards the end of the session, we will build up to Sirsasana (Headstand)—working with stability, strength, and balance. Whether you are trying headstand for the first time or refining your practice, there will be guidance and variations for all levels.

I am excited to invite you to a Hatha Yoga class on Sunday, 24 May, 11:00-12:30 in the Nieuwe Kerkhof park (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Nexug6VwjVhsHo5J7). This outdoor class will be a chance to move, breathe, and connect with nature. As we flow through our practice, we will root ourselves like the trees, let our breath move like the wind, and open our hearts to the warmth of the sun 🌳☀️

With each movement, we will tune into the earth beneath us, feeling its steady support. The rustling leaves and birdsong will guide us deeper into the present moment, reminding us to simply be. Through mindful breathwork and a balance of dynamic and grounding postures, we will cultivate both strength and stillness, allowing the body to soften and the mind to settle. We will close with a peaceful meditation under the open sky, fostering a deep sense of connection and calm.

Whether you are new to yoga or a dedicated practitioner, this class is for you. Please bring a yoga mat (or something to sit on if you prefer), comfortable clothing, and an open heart.

These are practical movements that you can easily integrate into a 5-minute break during office work. Though simple, they are extremely beneficial for releasing tension, improving circulation, and maintaining spinal health. From there, we will continue using the chair as support to refine our posture in standing poses. Working with the chair allows us to develop greater stability, clarity in alignment, and deeper awareness of how the body organizes itself in space.

This yoga class welcomes participants of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Whether you are just starting your yoga journey or have a seasoned practice, you will find the class inclusive and suitable for your experience level. To join the class, make sure to bring a yoga mat and wear clothing that allows free movement.

Please also bring a towel for hygiene purposes, as during the session you may need to place your head on the chair.
